Saddle Brook, NJ (June 13, 2005) – Neil Lebovits, CPA, president and COO of Ajilon Office, one of the fastest growing specialty staffing firms in North America, will present “Get The Most Out Of Your Career -- Tips For Success To Help You Move Up In The World!” on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the Adam's Mark Hotel, Denver CO. As part of the 2005 International Association of Administrative Professionals' (IAAP) International Convention and Education Forum, Mr. Lebovits will outline key steps for administrative professionals as they plan their career goals and grow professionally.
Today's administrative professionals often experience an abundance of opportunities in the workplace, spurred by the advances in technology and the rising expectations of the managers who rely on them. According to a recent survey conducted by Ajilon Office, 71% of administrative professionals believe their role has become more critical to the corporation and therefore their occupation commands more respect. With more than four million jobs categorized as ‘administrative' in 2004 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics , this growing segment of the population is ready to take charge and develop career goals in a way previously unavailable. And with an increase in the number of administrative professionals earning a base salary of at least $40,000, which is more than five-fold in the last ten years, managers are clearly recognizing the contribution administrative professionals can make.
“The role of administrative professionals has drastically evolved and today, they need to be tech-savvy and organized to stay on top of unprecedented information flow ,” said Mr. Lebovits. “As reliance on technology continues to expand in the workplace, the administrative professional needs to be the ultimate multi-tasker, able to be the go-to person for the harried execs and bustling departments they support,” emphasized Lebovits.
During the one-hour seminar, Mr. Lebovits will outline strategies for administrative professionals to maximize their career, such as:
- Create visibility within the company: Make your boss your #1 fan. Your manager's success is tied to your success, so you need to understand his/her goals and help achieve them.
- Become indispensable to your supervisor: Go above and beyond what you are expected to accomplish. For example, offer to help out on a big project that has a looming deadline.
- Remain optimistic: Optimists are able to transform problems into opportunities and usually have an edge in the workplace.
- Take responsibility for your destiny: Only you can control your career, so network, join professional organizations and read newspapers and industry trade publications.
The IAAP is the world's largest association of administrative professionals. As a non-profit, the IAAP works in partnership with employers to promote excellence in the workplace.
